QMX-III was the first car to place in the top ten overall at competition for QUT Motorsport. Featuring a slightly revised chassis to last year, newly designed bodywork and a lighter package overall.

Additionally, the car competed in a local hill climb championship and won its respective class. This allowed the team to have plenty of time to optimise car setup and driver training.
